I'm sure that Torres wants us to pay for the convention costs and transportation costs.
When I see an announcement like this, for some reason I remember that old ad about the Roach Motel, where they check in but don't ____________.

Ah yes. Let's hope that they hold a very expensive convention. Very expensive indeed. All the less money available to spend in other races in '04 ...

I loved Rush's comment yesterday on the No on Recall Yes on Cruz. It is baffling how low the Demoncats will go.

LA is the perfect ruined and declining city to symbolize the impact that Democratic Party policies have had on America.

California Dems: "We don't have time to prepare the polling places for Oct 7, but we have time to put together a state-wide convention before then."

Maybe I am the only one here who does, but I think the dems have an idea here that we could benefit from. Now hear me out before you slam me:
With one Dem on the ballot, they will be unified. We will be splintered and the vote spread. Since we are the minority party, that works against us.
So imagine that come September, the Republicans have a convention (Fox will cover it, if no one else does). As a result of the convention we get speeches from Uberoth, Simon, McClintock, Cox, Arnold, and others, hell bring in the top gun, George.
At the end of the convention, Arnold is declared the candidate and the dream team is announced:
Arnold: "I am THE Republican choice for Governor"
Peter U: "Saving California is a big job and will require a top team. I want to be part of that team, As Arnolds, Chief of Staff"
McClintock: "As Arnold's Chief advisor on political affairs, I am proud to be a member of this team"
The Slogan:
"It takes the RIGHT TEAM to Save California"
Cue Music.

I'm looking forward to seeing a debate that has both Davis and Bustamante in it. I wonder how Bustamante will handle supporting NO on recall and still debate against Davis.

Since nobody was killed in an airplane crash, I guess this rally will have to do.
To: NormsRevenge
Why isn't the GOP having a recall convention? Republicans need this more than the Dems.
To: NormsRevenge
Well, if they pick someone else who won't be on the official ballot, I can guarantee they will not be able to write-in the name correctly and we'll have another Florida 2000 all over again. Disenfranchised voters all over the Golden State. This is assuming it is a close vote which I doubt will be the case.

I'm imagining a sign across the street: "Davis/Bustamante supporters, you pay more and leave the rest of us alone." Oversized envelopes addressed to the Board of Equalization are offered to convention attendees.
