I think your chart proves my point. Chiron (CHIR) was hit hard - initially. But the NASDAQ wasn't impacted by much if at all.

It's funny, my last post on another thread with a totaly different subject had the same general answer, it all depends on how it's defined.

In this case, while the percentage of change on the NASDAQ was small, the total value of the decline in value was far greater than that directly attributable to Chiron in the index. So in one sense, it was disproportionately 'hard', but not so 'hard' in relation to a normal range, but it also was setting direction at the time.

It's all perspective, and not all have the same one. Some of us have stronger stomachs than others. ;-)
