I've never seen that much mentioned as the award, either. The biggest figure I've seen is $1.3 million.

$9.4M was technically awarded by the jury, but they reduced the amount to $1.2M "to reflect Terri’s attributable negligence". I believe they felt she was partially responsible due to her eating disorder.
