As I said in the Age of Clinton, euthanasia is the highest of all "moral" values -- it trumps even feminism or the other Democrat "isms."

To bad that her parents can't have an ambulance waiting and 'kidnap' her and put her into another nursing home in another state. It seems short of Gov Bush sending in the State police to protect her the 'bad' judge and her hubby are going to get their way.

My first time posting here so please be patient. Have been a lurker for many years. Do a google search for Legal Status of Assisted Suicide/Euthanasia in the United States. You will find euthanasia is prohibited in Florida under the general homicide laws. Don't know if it would help to research it further Also, if anything does happen to Terri is there a way to follow the money trail? Monies paid to Greer, Hospice,etc.. Someone is getting paid off big time if Michael was actually awarded $9 million. Wanted to try and help Terri in some way..so I registered today just to help keep this thread bumped. Fran

I emailed the Judge and thought time for political correctness has passed. Here it is:

J. Greer commented on the radio "I am just doing what the 2nd DCA told me to do."

What you are doing is spinning away that it was your decision in the first place that was sent to the 2nd DCA and they didn't reverse you. You don't even have the courage of your convictions.

I had files and handled guardianships of the person &/or the property. This is not how we treated our wards. You approved my acccountings, etc. Terri is NOT IN A COMA. SHE IS NOT A VEGETABLE. She has parents who love her. Her husband can only hold press conferences to complain about how long it's been. What an inconvenience for him!

The guardian ad litem could protect Terri from her husband who recently attempted to withhold antibiotics so that he could have her death even sooner. How can you sleep at night? After Terri has been starved to death, may you see her face every night when you lay down to sleep. You could have appointed a guardian ad litem.

It's apparent that you don't have a conscience to continue as a Judge in the guardianship section. Michael Schiavo has no conscience either. If he was a loving husband, Terri would be in a NURSING HOME instead of a HOSPICE facility.

You sir, are guilty of aiding and abetting a neglectful husband and are discriminating against a disabled Floridian.

All we ask is for a Guardian Ad Litem to be appointed for Terri Schiavo.

If you can't do that for Terri, expect to be recalled through the very system that you are hiding behind and oops, there goes your pension and big salary, FV (my name to Judge but not posting here)

"(that being said, I acknowledge that I am a sinner too)"

LOL. FV, I think that goes for all of us!

Re: the hyperlink. Do you mean make a post on the Ten Commandments thread with a link to this one? I can do that! I recently learned to use FrontPage to do some of the stuff I was so envious of on this forum. Not fancy yet, but intend to get there.

If a person in Florida draws up a Will, there's a separate page that addresses withholding of nourishment and fluids if that's the desire of the Testatrix. In Terri's case, there is no written document, just her husband's words that "she told him she never wanted to be kept alive artificially." Now, I don't trust the husband any more than I trust O.J. Simpson.

It's one feeding tube and she can breathe on her own. She is not in a coma. She is not on a respirator or ventilator. She is a disabled woman. Her husband put her in a hospice instead of a nursing home. That speaks volumes. Thanks for your post.

Read your post and wanted to thank you for helping with ideas. I don't know if the money trail can be followed, but am sure there's someone on this forum who will know.

Also, I'd like to extend a warm welcome to FreeRepublic. Glad to have you here!

Can you put this thread over at the Ten Commandment thread and mark it URGENT? We need those freepers to be alerted to this outrage and start calling and emailing, following in our footsteps.

If our efforts don't work, at least there will be a collective guilty conscience in J. Greer's office, the 2nd DCA, husband, the Judicial Qualification Commission and anyone else who says "I'm just a secretary" or "there's nothing we can do."

If we fail, there's always (barf) 60 Minutes.

Welcome to FR. Sorry something so shameful as this situation is what gave us the opportunity to "meet" you.

My point is since Terri doesn't have a living will, why would the other laws not apply to her. Euthanas is prohibited in Florida under the genereal homicide laws. This would be a good place to check. Since this is not euthanasia it is homicide. Also, what about a petition to impeach or recall Judge Greer.. Do a search under judicial ethics and they tell you how. Fran

We will call Monday as we have a long trip to evaluate King Vanity for a new wheelchair seating system tommarrow.

Teri is in our prayer without a doubt daily.

Hope she can get medical care for the other issues popping up.

If she gets a new chair I would like to suggest a quickie tilt in space. The vendors here are pushing Solaris brand wheelchairs and they are crap.

We have used quickie for decades and tried a few other brands only to send them back.

My son requires his teeth to be cleaned yearly and he is tube fed. Her husband is an idiot.

The only thing shamefull about it is Felos, Michial Schiavo and Judge Greer. They are beyond shame. No rehabilitation or medical treatment for thirteen years. Banning her parents and priest from her. This whole thing is outrageous. Denied Physical therapy and even the simplest of things like brushing teeth. I have time tomorrow to keep this bumped if you need me. Let me know. Fran

I WILL do it! Thank you for the phone #, and I'm still looking for a link between Greer, Bushnell, and the Hospice. They are too dirty to begin with, and all decisions have been made in the Hospice/Husband's favor. There is much more to this decision than just Terri, and I feel like the business potential for "processing" people like Terri would be a potential goldmine.

Hubby's attorney, George Felos, was once the Chairman of the Board for Terri's Hospice, and that taints everything any of the Hospice medical workers say about Terri. If Hospice had Felos (hubby's attorney) on their payroll, who else is on it? Why is Greer so admant that Terri must die?

Sorry, but I cannot agree with you. Did the thirteen other doctors examine her? My understanding is that there was a specific panel of five who did, within the past year, and that the majority of them made the findings I describe. I am gravely skeptical of any physician who will offer an opinion on a patient they have not personally examined, and reviewed the medical history of.

And much as I feel for Mrs. Schiavo's parents, it is a widely known phenomenon for people in this situation to "see" things that are not really there, because they wish so desperately for it to be true.

Finally, yes, I've seen the videos. But you cannot tell just from watching a few seconds or minutes of videotape what a patient's true status is, and anyone who tells you they can is a charlatan, even if they have "M.D." after their name.

I am not qualified to judge Terri Schiavo's medical condition, even if I had the opportunity to examine her. I doubt that very many people on this thread are -- possibly none of us are. The one thing I do know is that this situation has been going on for more than a decade. Many judges have looked into it. Physicians appointed by the court have examined her, and rendered their opinions, and now the courts have determined that Mrs. Schiavo's closest living relative is acting appropriately.

This sort of thing happens in every state in the union, every single day. We can keep a human body "alive" with its heart beating and its lungs pushing air for a very long time after the person who inhabited that body is no longer there. There comes a time when someone has to decide that everything that can be done has been done. It is always a hard decision, and it is made immensely harder when family members of the patient are in conflict, as Mr. Schiavo is obviously in conflict with his wife's parents. But he is the one with the ultimate legal right to make the decision, and this has been tested in a grueling, ten year court battle. It's over, and it's time to let this poor woman rest in peace.

Here's the deal. Nobody at the local clerk's office knew how to recall a Judge. They referred me to the Tallahassee number who others have talked to who just got cranky that they were getting phone calls.

I'll call the local elections supervisor to see if we can recall Judge Greer. Terri is not terminally ill - she is disabled. There is no Living Will and the husband and judge are divining that she would prefer death to life.
