The same question I posed 35 years ago when I first became a father !. Make the sacrifices, pay the price: your children will be " hungry again" & surprise you by exceeding all your expectations despite the school if you're a supportive parent ( there still are superlative educators in the public system )! Don't be so overprotective! What type of private school ? The type that John Kerry & Ted Kennedy send their children to ? They're "elitists"! Heaven forbid if your daughter has to sit next to their obnoxious, nonachieving offspring ! It sounds like you have an achiever - give her some slack !)You're worried about a tax break ? Your priorities are distorted ! God Bless You !

I am not all that worried about tax breaks. But when I read about DC schools spending $10,000 per child in a failing school system and the teachers union not wanting to change a thing (except maybe spending some more money) I am convinced public schools have been taken over and the education of our children is not at all a priority. I pay taxes to support the teachers union and the cycle continues.
