I will probably vote for Condon in the Primary which will go against my Upstate Rep. DeMint. SC has always had a tradition of having a Senator from the Upstate and one from the Lowcountry. Present Senator Lindsey Graham is from the Upstate, so I cannot see SC residents voting for another Upstate senator. It would alienate the Lowcountry elect and might set up a strong Democratic opposition in the next election due to the Lowcountry favoring Democrats in the past.
Another reason against DeMint - although he is a strong conservative, a few years ago he voted to support former Pres Clinton on an issue and it really POed my husband. I am sorry I cannot remember the issue but I do remember saying I would not vote for him again, and I haven't. If anyone can remember what the issue was that he supported Clinton with, please let me know.

"What Condon is doing is taking the advice of his political consultants and not appear to be the shooting-from-the-hip Charlie Condon of the past," said Francis Marion University political scientist Neal Thigpen.

Thank goodness!

Shooting from the hip would only backfire, especially against Inez.
