"This war is a spiritual war and we don't see the things that are going on in the spiritual realm. "

Thank you for telling the truth as it has been so overlooked here by many.

Your post 488 is garbage. Washington was a Christian who prayed to a divine God. Not a deist, not an agnostic, not an atheist, a Christian.

Really? Please show me where he declared himself to be.

George Washington, the first president of the United States, never declared himself a Christian

Sorry, but he didn't. Provide some evidence to the contrary and I'll listen.

Hah! Yep, here's the old atheist himself, just before Valley Forge

Please clue me in. Did I say he was an atheist? And, by the way, are you suggesting that that picture proves he was a Christian?

Was George Washington a Christian?

Well, he was an Episcopalian, according to this article.<p

Yes, the article makes a claim that he was; he, however, never did.

With all the problems of the world a stone tablet scribed with the basics of common sense is a threat over everything else. Back in the day where these was posted most everywhere children were safe in their yards, prisons were far and few in between, you could write a check with a counter draft, women seldom worried about rape and a handshake was as good as a written contract. We're running head long into oblivion and the intelligentsia says that is progress.

LOL!

No, mate. He was looking for some loose change.

Don't worry, Roughie. As long as you don't acknowledge you're an idiot, no-one else will believe it either. :)

Sorry. I should have assumed that you knew that deists pray in such a manner. Please forgive my presumption. I won't do it again.

Considering your apparent lack of knowledge on the subject matter, I hardly think your opinions are worth a bucket of warm spit.

Oh, BTW, I'm still waiting for you to provide some evidence that Washington ever claimed he was a Christian. Please do so at your own convenience. Perhaps you could quote something that he said in one of those biographies you suggested I read? That would be peachy, thanks.

Ol' Roughie needs more proof than that.

An autographed picture of Washington, with 'I am a Christian!" tattooed across the forehead, might just suffice. :)

That would be great. But, I'll take something written in his own hand, too. He was a prolific writer, as I'm sure you know.

What are the negative consequences of unresolved denial? Unresolved denial can result in: Delusional thinking, leading to a feeling that everything is OK, even when it is not. Greater conflict between the deniers and the non-deniers. Fantasy or magical thinking, allowing distorted thinking to become a habit. Poor problem-solving and decision-making abilities for the denier.

Fascinating link. But, it has nothing to do with Washington, now does it? Still patiently waiting... You made the assertion; back it up with facts.

.."get your hands off our God, God haters!" yelled the wildly gesturing, red-faced man who initiated the chanting..."

...what a classic piece of biased reporting. And won't the Moore-haters here lap it up?

There is nothing biased about it. This guy was going to give himself a stroke. People were trying to calm him down but he was running all over the place screaming about his God Rock. He needed to be taken away for observation.
