[history]
Anderson, 47, at least the second black candidate to make a historic bid for statewide office this year, slipped by his opponent, state Sen. Rob Smith, in one of three statewide runoffs Tuesday.
He joins Democrat Barbara Blackmon, also vying to become the first black statewide elected official since the late 19th century. Republican Roger Crowder, whose race was still undecided late Tuesday, could be a third.

I would think Reeves would have the advantage going in. You gotta figure Tuck-Reeves-Clark(D)-Spell(D)-Bryant, plus hopefully Haley Barbour and Scott Newton.

I hope so.
Spell and Clark could switch and still win.

I expected a pretty big margin of victory for Tate Reeves. I wasn't sure if he was up to the job of a campaign when he first got in but he has done some big-time fundraising and seems to be doing fine.
Agriculture Commissioner was much closer than I though it would be -- I haven't heard who has won yet.
Btw, turtle races can be great fun.

Couple of things.
First, Tate's a friend of mine, and I'm so proud of him I can't stand it.
Second, don't bank on Lester Spell. Keep watching the newspapers. That's all I can say right now.
