Yeap, and only 30% of the Folks in the Colonies wanted freedom and independence too. But when the PATRIOTS earned it with their blood and sweat the other 70% sure didn't go back to Britian.

Seems to me, that instead of pushing for a vote for Arnold, they would be wanting Davis to remain. After all that is what he stands for.
