"Paradoxically, the more horrific the targets for attack, the weaker the terrorists. The truck bombing of UN headquarters in Baghdad is a classic example. Unable to pull off something of that magnitude against an American or British military outfit, the terrorists pick a soft, innocent target upon which to vent their murderous nature."

When we got reports about tho MO of insurgents ambushing an MSR in SE Baghdad, they were captured. When some guys tried smuggling a bunch of C-4 into our compound, they were captured. The next day, a hotel was bombed. Then, two weeks later, the UN building is hit. That jives well with what the author wrote above. When they tried to attack US forces they were thwarted, killed, or captured. Suddenly, soft targets started getting hit.

Unfortunately, the terrorists have reliable allies here in the U.S.

Getting some IRAQI TV/radio stations and newspapers reporting on the situation may help matters.
