Around the NFL Romanowski punished for fight with teammate Star News Services
Oakland Raiders linebacker Bill Romanowski was suspended from Monday's practice and fined an undisclosed amount after punching and seriously injuring teammate Marcus Williams during a fight in practice Sunday.
Williams' left orbital bone was broken and his nose was injured, according to coach Bill Callahan. The seldom-used backup tight end will be out four to six weeks.
Though Williams reportedly called Alameda (Calif.) police after the incident, no criminal charges have been filed over the scuffle, which occurred during a practice drill. Callahan doesn't expect charges to be pressed.
It doesn't matter who it is, Callahan said. When it gets to that severity, I'm going to level a discipline. It goes beyond the game. Once it's beyond the respect and dignity of a player, it's a tragedy.

Good to see the Raiders up to their old tricks, and very pleased that my Broncos will be mopping the floor with them this year.

This only means that the Raiders are back to their winning ways. Raider fans know that the more crazies on their team the better for their chances. Were I a Bronco fan, I would be worried. Especially after the game last night.

Romanowski may be the lowest class act in the entire NFL.

Wasn't he with the Bronco's ?

Romanowski is known for crap like this. Just one of many reasons why any Chiefs fan HATES THE RAIDERS. GO CHIEFS!

back in the 70's and 80's the Raiders changed their image from a relatively clean team to a very dirty playing team. I remember them being proud of dirty hits and fights.
Can't stand um... hope they clean up their act.

nothing like a little 'roid rage to get those sicko Raider fans started. Expect more knife attacks at the Raiders games than usual this year.

Were I a Bronco fan, I would be worried. Especially after the game last night. So Jake had one or two mistakes, no biggie. The Bronco running backs are looking better than they ever have, and, were I a Raider fan, I'd be worried about that pack of old men falling apart by beating each other silly before anything on the playing field.

I'm gettin' sentimental now...like the old days of Raider smashmouth style. This is a heartwarming story of bonding and camaraderie,Raider style.I'm sorry, I'm fogging up ;-)

Please, last year that punk Eddie Freeman hit John Tait in the face with his helmet during a fight in practise. Seems a large number of NFL players on most teams are losers.

Remember Andre' Waters? A tiny little free safety that put the fear of God into a reciever or running back. 150lbs. soaking wet, but man could he take out your legs.

Did the Raiders EVER play clean? Sheesh, they've ALWAYS been the rogues and renegades of the NFL...
Of course, the Bears are gonna REALLY put the hurt on some folks. Mr. Urlacher, meet the quarterback. Mr. Quarterback... MEET THE TURF!!!
