The entire system is broken, no branch of government is working as designed. I would be very suprised if congress takes up the issue. They also have no intention of protecting the Pledge, or marriage. They are just waiting for the dust to settle and the people to grow tired of beating their heads against the wall of their inaction.
What it really comes down to is the "will" of the people, and I fear that is greatly lacking and has been for decades. Moral relativism has taken it's toll. So has ignorance and inattention to the workings of government and the citizens duty to hold government in great suspecion.
I wonder if perhaps the riots of the 60's, when the south was facing batons and police dogs to stop intergration, taught the people a lesson in what happens when an entire state's populace takes on the Fed. While the Fed was right in that instance, they are most certainly wrong in this one.
