When the Supreme Court is in disagreement with itself, does that mean then, that there really is no valid interpretation of the Constitution?

The SCOTUS has the final word on interpretation of the constitution, however, they refused to hear this case. The case has not come before them. They simply refused to issue a 'stay' of the decision of the lower court.

Only because they gave themselves that right. Jefferson called judicial review nothing short of "tyranny."
