I wonder how many e-mails Jeb got about Elian...
Maybe that's what it's all about: thumbs up or thumbs down--vox populi.
If you read about this case in a work of fiction, you wouldn't believe it. It's soooo pathetic. This poor woman was most likely brutalized and her "husband's" worse nightmare would be Terri resurrected and on the witness stand testifying as to how she got her injuries in the first place.
He could divorce her, but then I guess he meant it when he said, "Till death do us part."
And the bishops not supporting the family is a disgrace...but that's a whole other subject.
If the "husband" were successful in having her die, the effect on the medical profession and on each and every one of us would be tragic.

I wonder, if Judge Greer came upon Stephen Hawking lying in a bed, with no one else around, would the judge consider Dr. Hawking a vegetable? ... The Judge and Michael Schiavo deserve to spend a very, very, very long time together.

Great points M!
To this judge based on his apparent MO, What might he think if he saw Hawking without his awesome wheelchair and technology that enable him to speak, lying helpless in bed? This great scientist, arguably one of the greatest minds of the day would be a useless feeder to this judges way of logic.
I firmly believe if we allow this evil (and it is evil) to spread, there will be as many if not more euthanasia clinics as there are abortion clinics in the coming decades.
We defeated Hitlers killing machine only 60 odd years ago, but in the last 30America has killed more of its own citizens than the entire Nazi holocaust, and each season brings new attacks against the inviolable God given Constitutionally protected right to life.
We have become Nazis and put our Holocaust Chambers in harmless looking buildings with quaint signs to fool ourselves.
I am not fooled, I am BITTERLY disgusted and ashamed.

Public works crews constructed hundreds of feet of fence down the middle of
Bennington Ave. and on a privately owned vacant lot next door to the Delta Women's
Clinic to separate pro-lifers from the clinic and its pro-abortion forces.
Bennington Avenue will be closed "until further notice," city-parish officials said.
DPW crews installed a 6-foot-tall chain link fence
around a vacant lot adjacent to the clinic on Bennington Avenue and installed a
similar fence down the middle of Bennington Avenue near the clinic.
The work was done to prepare for Operation Rescue's "Summer of Purpose
protests in Baton Rouge. Delta was considered the primary target of the
pro-life group Operation Rescue In Baton Rouge.

You mentioned that America has become like a "Nazi" state.
It was actually the late LA Democrat Huey P. Long, Jr., that forecast such a development as this. He said America could become fascist but would call it "anti-fascism."
So here we are abhorring Hitler (and Mussolini) but adopting large segments of his (their) policies. The Americans just cannot understand what they are doing. Jesus spoke in such terms on the cross.

Thanks for your post and ping. Those who think that man is perfectable or socially evolving are wrong. There is sin and evil in the world. The twentieth century was the bloodiest century in human history. So far, the twenty-first isn't giving us much hope for a turn-around. We desperately need a cultural change to celebrate human life instead of looking for justifications to terminate life and prevent children from living. Europe and Japan are now beginning to experience what a society without children will look like and it will be neither joyful nor prosperous.

Do a FR search under Terri Schiavo and get all the posts. Judge simply put Gov. Bush's letter in the file. September 11th is the day of sentencing.

Thanks, since I posted that to you I have read probably half a dozen additional threads, including posts by you, to that effect, so you provided me with details elsewhere. :)
As for the judge, what a schmuck. To put it kindly.

I scored a very critical phone number today. Please spread it around. Judge Greer invoked the rule of law today in light of public pressure.
I doubt he has a clue how many people are on Terri's side it goes beyond 27K emails. Let's give Judge Greer a wakeup call. This is not rule of law. It's life and death.
This is the phone number for a few pay grades above J. Greer. Call the: Judicial Qualifications Commission at #1-850-488-1581.
I'm complaining tomorrow that J. Greer is playing God, that he's been in the husband's corner since Day One, he doesn't care a wit about Terri's parents or her husband's recent attempt to deny her medical treatment, and I'd like to know if Greer can be recalled or impeached.
HE SHOULD HAVE OR COULD HAVE HONORED GOV. BUSH'S REQUEST TO ASSIGN A GUARDIAN AD LITEM to represent Terri's interest instead of once again, taking the side of the husband. Judge Greer is from the Sixth Circuit Court, Pinellas County.
Oh, and ping everybody you can think of.
