What's the status of that bill? The article you are quoting from is almost 1 1/2 years old....... Is it still pending, dead, or what?

That article was out of date. Gray signed the bill last year to gain political leverage over Simon during the 02 gubenatorial race. It has no bearing. See my post #72 and #218. Roscoe is trying to make an issue where none exists.

As an Illinoisan, I can relate that as long as conservatives are willing to support RINO's, we'll keep getting them -- and it's just a slightly slower trip to "hell" than the Democrats offer.

As an Illinoisan, how does CA's Governor impact you 1 iota? The CA Governor has no say in anything that impacts you. Why do you care?

As a Californian, I can tell you there will be a helluva lot of difference between Davis and Ahnold. Just the Workman's Comp issue alone will make a huge difference for businesses here.

Interesting. I still think the polls are too much all over the map, but they're showing a trend. And the trend is toward Arnold, largely. That can change.

Look at post #223....McClintock at 8% in the lastest ABC poll, released this afternoon. He was at 7% in the Public Policy Institute poll published this morning.

Unfortunately, that sounds more accurate.

I hope if necessary, he will drop out for Arnold. Or the other way around, depending on how things happen here.

Bingo! Thanks for making that point.

If Bustamante only has 29% that is telling. So is McClintock with only 8%. The poll is of likely voters!

I still believe it is too early for McC to drop out. If he's able to catch fire over the next three or so weeks, he deserves all the credit due him; but if he's still knocking about among single-digits, he needs to do the right thing and leave. Same for Arnold, if he tanks.

Drier is to be guest on Hardball, will be interesting, especially after his incessant quoting of the LA Times poll!

There are advantages to a Bustamante victory, yes. Mostly, he will be a governor unable to govern, because his tax hike isn't going anywhere.

You're kidding, right?

Looks like some of the undecideds are breaking for Arnold. McClintock's number hasn't changed, and Bustamante has been knocking around the upper 20s. Arnold's numbers represent a surge (if the poll is to be believed -- a lot of different numbers from different polls over the past 24 hours). The undecideds have been around 30-33%. My theory is that most of them are independents and Republicans waiting to see who will catch fire.

A lot of the other polls were taken before Simon quit, and Arnold had his PC. Could account for the some of the undecideds.
