LOS ANGELES (AP) - A laid-off computer technician has been arrested for investigation of hacking into telephone hotline systems used by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services and other government agencies, the FBI said Monday.
Walter Wiggs, 44, of Douglasville, Ga., was arrested Friday on federal charges of gaining unauthorized access to a protected computer, authorities said.

File this under "complete idiot." He's been laid off and suddenly a system he's familiar with is hacked into. Hmmmm, where on earth do we look to see who could of done it?
I expect to read a lot more of these done by disgruntled former IT workers that have been recently laid off.

What really kills me is that these morons are always smart enough to hack the system, but to dumb to get a linemans handset and go "crack a can" to get a connection...

Easy, that's a hardware issue and he's a software guy ;)
I'm just waiting for a case of someone selling their inside security info to the highest bidder.
