OPEN ASSIGNMENT
MISSION TO SAVE AMERICAN JOBS
August 25, 2003

President Bush:

Mr. President your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to recover the 3+ million jobs lost on your watch. You are to find where they went, recover them, and prevent this from happening again.

You have until November 2004 to complete this mission.

If you choose not to accept this mission, or are incapable of performing, don't run in the GOP Primary so another Republican can accept this important mission for America.

American Citizen Voter

PS Ronald Reagan was the last Republican to understand. Ross Perot sent a warning to your Dad but since then all we hear is the mantra, 'Perot gave us Clinton'. Actually your Dad gave us Perot.

The cure for outsourcing is simple. Congress should pass a law saying that no CEO of any US company can make more than 15 times the average wage of his employees. It certainly would be a cut for the CEO if the average wage of his company's employees was 5,000 a year, as it is in India. Congress already has passed a law limiting salaries to CEOs, though companies then began giving stock options to get around the cap. With the lousy stock prices the past 3 years, that's no bargain. This would be the perfect solution because then everyone can suffer equally....or be rewarded equally.

Proposed concept behind NAFTA in 1979

Reagan himself was a dreamer, capable of imagining a world without trade barriers. In announcing his presidential candidacy in Nov. 1979, he had proposed a “North American accord” in which commerce & people would move freely across the borders of Canada & Mexico. This idea, largely overlooked or dismissed as a campaign gimmick in the US, rankled nationalist sensibilities in the neighboring nations. But Reagan was serious in his proposal. Though he traveled only once outside the North American continent during his first 57 years, he was neither insular nor isolationist. California has windows to the world in Asia, and Reagan thought of the US as a Pacific power as well as an Atlantic one. He also had a Californian’s consciousness of Mexico and an actor’s appreciation of Canadians, who are well-represented in the film community. The dream of a North American accord would drive the successful pursuit of a US-Canadian free trade agreement and a future-oriented “framework” trade agreement with Mexico.

Nope .. it was the people that voted for Perot that gave us Clinton .. but I guess they didn't learn a lesson from the 8 year nightmare of him and his commie wife and the 4 year nightmare of Carter .. now they want to threaten us again with a President Dean .. or worse

Oh yea .. that's just what this country needs while we are in a war or terrorism ..

If the President deigned to answer you he would probably tell you that a hell of a lot of those jobs disappeared with the underfunded, overrated dot com companies. Those folks were no better than gerbels running on a treadmill - making a lot of heat but producing nothing.

Reagan was a free trader. Anyone who says differently is hallucinating.
