There's a lot of truth to that. But there are plenty of nice guys who won't take any crap off anyone; it's just that they do it in a nice way. There's a lot of room to be assertive between Mr. Doormat and Mr. Jerk.

See my 188. I think we're not far off from each other's viewpoints. There is a difference between being a strong "nice guy" and a pathetic doormat. A lot of times, a "nice guy" is defined as somebody who will give his woman whatever she asks for, and will forgive her for any behavior. Some women may enjoy using such a person for a while, but will not give him any respect, nor will they be interested in sticking with him.
