Roy Moore took a vow to uphold the laws in Alabama.

The Preamble is not the law, it is an introduction to the law, the Constitution of Alabama.

You didn't answer my question. How many laws from the 10 Commandments are our laws based upon? Either federal or state.

From Thompson's ruling

http://www.almd.uscourts.gov/Opinions/Glassroth%20v%20Moore%20Opinion.pdf
""But, in announcing
this holding today, the court believes it is important to
clarify at the outset that the court does not hold that it is
improper in all instances to display the Ten Commandments in
government buildings; nor does the court hold that the Ten
Commandments are not important, if not one of the most
important, sources of American law. Rather the court's limited
holding, as will be explained below in more detail, is that the
Chief Justice's actions and intentions in this case crossed the
Establishment Clause line between the permissible and the
impermissible."
Thompson does not deny that the 10 Commandments are "one of the most important sources of American law."

He doesn't like what Moore says about them. And he does not want God mentioned.

Snerk, the Preamble is part of the Constitution. It points out such things as the purpose, intent, direction, etc., of that which is being constituted.

Therefore, when the US Constitution says "promote the general welfare" you realize that is an important preview of intent.

When the Alabama Constitution says, "invoke the favor and guidance of Almighty God," it is only fair to ask who is meant by the Almighty mentioned.

The bottom line: IF it is true that Judge Moore violated this Constitution by placing the 10 commandments in the lobby of the courthouse, THEN it is also true that the CONSTITUTION violates itself by placing the words "Almighty God" in the preamble.

Many oriental religions do not believe in any "Almighty God." Atheism does not believe in any "Almighty God." There are polytheists running around who have not elevated any god to the "Almighty God" status.

IF the 10 Commandments are unconstitutional by the US Constitution, then the ALABAMA CONSTITUTION must be declared unconstitutional, BUT IT HAS NOT BEEN!
