Roy Moore: In God I Trust

Why I'm standing up for the Ten Commandments in Alabama.

MONTGOMERY, Ala.--The battle over the Ten Commandments monument I brought into Alabama's Supreme Court is not about a monument and not about politics. (The battle is not even about religion, a term defined by our Founders as "the duty we owe to our creator and the manner for discharging it.") Federal Judge Myron Thompson, who ordered the monument's removal, and I are in perfect agreement on the fact that the issue in this case is: "Can the state acknowledge God?"

No judge has the authority to impose his will on the people of a state

Roy Moore's own words. Out of his own mouth.

Cooked his own goose.

Actually, he is 100% correct. It is the duty of the executive branch to execute the orders of judges. That's why we have a separated government. The executive branch could simply refuse to execute the order. The judiciary does not reign supreme. The executive branches of government have veto power by simply refusing to follow the orders of judges.

Not small minded, just a person who rejoices in the abolition of God from our nation's public life and the degradation of Christianity and the striking down of sodomy laws. Seamless garment of hell's minions.

Okay. At least you admit that you are a virulently anti-Christian bigot. (To be kind, I will leave the part about being a vicious libertine for another post.)

Funny, but you work on hatred of Christians and Christianity -- when you wouldn't be where you are nor have what you have if you had not had the shoulders of your (predominately Christian-oriented) predecessors to stand on.

Thus, you are a small-hearted ingrate, as well.

No. My sense of justice is offended. This is not about my feelings. LOL. This is about LIBERTY -- something you seem neither to understand nor to be capable of preserving for the next generation.

Uh, Ben. America IS home to thousands of Buddhists, and Muslims.

You've got some prejudices you need to resolve.

///////
Uh, Sink: Read all my posts.

It just so happens that your grasp of the obvious has no bearing on the thrust of my argument -- that a Muslim immigrant to this country enjoys greater freedom here than in the country of his birth, precisely because of (rather than in spite of) the decidedly Judeo-Christian foundation of our laws and legal system -- which you seem incapable of grasping (let along rebutting).

Has the Chief Justice of Hawaii attempted to assert that Christian religious writings are the basis of the law? If not, then, probably not.

//////////
LOL. Your ignorance of the realities in Hawaii today are comical. There is no chance for the scenario you limned out in the Hawaii of today. Hawaii's State Supreme Court is so liberal as to be off the map.

But, if he did assert what you posit, he would at least show that he is intellectually honest and factually informed.

I think you are making a mistake, my friend, or confusing me with someone else. I was agreeing with you and expounding on your criticisms.

We are on the same page.

I am absolutely mortified. Please forgive me. I apologize publicly here for all to see. I retract my post that was incorrectly directed at you.

No, problem, my friend. It happens to the best of us. I just didn't want you associating me in your mind with THAT guy.
