Those cases of priests being accused in the media of pedophilia typically involve young, pubescent--as opposed to pre-pubescent--boys. Thus, although the nomenclature of pedophilia does not apply, a breach of ethics and the law does.

Yes, I agree, this is hyperbole verging on hysteria.

Now I think that homosexuality is a disorder, but I also think that a sexual attration to children is an even more extreme disorder. But I would say that an attraction to a young person of 16 or 17 years is NOT a disorder. In many states one can be married at those ages, and one can certainly have children at those ages. And you can certainly marry whoever you please, so a 16 year old can marry a 40 year old. One might not approve of that, for a variety of reasons, but I do not think it can be classified as a disorder, or a crime, provided the relationship is consensual.

What is particularly annoying about all this is the liberals who want to cure the problems caused by sex with...more sex!
