He won't get out, this is about ego, not principle.Yep. I never had much use for Issa, but he got out on day one. Finally Simon got religion too. If McClintock stays in he may get an ego boost, but he'll curry no favor with the WH I'd wager.
Why doesn't McClintock get out of the way now, and run against Boxer in '06? Then maybe we could get a two-fer. A Governor and a Senator.

What I noticed about McClintock is that he has about as much charisma as Davis and he seems rather arrogant. I can't see those qualities connecting at this point with Californians, even if on paper he may be the most qualified. I do NOT believe these polls about Arnold way behind, either. It is just too convenient with the Davis-Clinton strategy of blaming Republicans & right-wingers and connecting it all to Florida & impeachment...and all of a sudden Busta-grande is way ahead. Polls can and always will be manipulated.
