I grew up in the '60s. I met Tom Hayden. I thought he was intolerant and self-righteous. But the author of this article has the same faults and is stupid as well. A simple example

David Crosby in recent times had been looking for a liver donor . You see , the lost and fallen man destroyed his liver with alchoholism . Maybe this would not have happened had he left the 50's alone.

They weren't "Liberal" in the 1960s -- they were overtly socialist and communist (waving communist flags, rallying to KGB run protests - like Comrades Clinton and Talbott, you name it). Heck the "Yippies" stood for the Youth International Party -- communists. They have "gone soft" by becoming what we know as the modern "Liberal" -- going from followers of Lenin, Ho, Mao, and Castro to followers of Gramsci, Alinsky, and before he was ousted fawning all over Gorbachev.

I would agree with practically everything you said, except that I think your definition of conservatives is too narrow. I myself have no interest in religion- my conservative views come from observing the fact that human beings are at their best when left to their own devices.

The '60s was a mass abuse of idealism by young people who mistook idealism for wisdom. They saw societal problems, but but instead of try to correct them, they added a bunch more. They fractured generational continuity to a large entent by rejecting everyone over 30 years of age at the time, thus throwing out a lot of the good with only a little of the bad.
