Here's more proof that we're becoming an Internet nation. Retired Gen. Tommy Franks, the media-shy boss of the Iraq war, has turned to the Web for his coming out. The Army four-star put up www.tommyfranks.com to both brag on his distinguished career and solicit speech and book proposals.

I always liked this guy's style. I hope he gets lots of speaking gigs. ;-)

I agree with you.

Nice website he has. Great pictures.

He always seemed so poised and confident at briefings during the war and not to mention debonair in full uniform. He comes across as a true gentleman.

You said it all so much better than I did. Thanks. ;-)

What's the big deal. Everyone this side of the moon has a website.

since it's less than a single month's cable or satellite bill to acquire and maintain a website bearing your name for a year, everyone ought to--or else the real 'joe smith' will do it and you'll forever be associated with porn or bad musical taste

No, it may NOT be a "big deal", for many including yourself, but for some of us who just viewed it, we enjoyed it.

Actually, I enjoyed it too. My point in my previous post was for those that thought: Oh no, Mr. Franks couldn't possibly have a website looking for speaking engagements and book deals. I said, jeez, what's the big deal. That's the only point I was trying to make.
