One question to ask in the polls, which no doubt some clever soul is asking, is:

"If you plan to vote for a Republican on election day, and one of the Republican candidates is the clear leader, but will lose if the Republican vote is split, will you vote for the Republican candidate of your choice or for the leading Republican candidate?"

I'm guessing most will vote for the leading Republican candidate. So the polls are useful, but most useful is the answer to the above question. Of course, as candidates drop out, they help elect a Republican governor.

Well said and badly needed at this time. We must stand united against the Democrat machine if we're to have any chance of retaking our state.

Why do you call others petty for doing the same thing you are doing? I am going to decide how to vote in this election when I get more information. Why isn't that a good thing?

and then cry martyr martyr woe is me... I actually wish them well on their forty year journey into the political wilderness

Tough to hear, but sadly true in some corners of the movement. Chris Matthews said it well the other night: "There are some (conservatives) who don't want to govern...they want to be on the outside attacking those who do..." (Not an exact quote, but that's the best I can remember it.)

I am far away from the California race and now McCain's campaign advisor joined Arnold's team. I am neutral but I know that Bustamente as governor won't solve anything.

Remember when Newt or somebody at the pubbie convention told Maria to "get out". She was in their personal space.

Vat is best for kallyfornia? You all have seven weeks to win the recall and defeat the democrats.

Good luck because California isn't Florida. We are a more conservative state with a lot of fixed incomers who even complain about their phone bills going up a few bucks. We don't have a state income tax and other taxes that California does.

McClintock supporters should give me their links. I already have the official site for him on my web page.

I want a win but anyone who takes the time to study the candidates should know that Mclintock is a brilliant principalled conservative who is well qualified and deserves a fair shot.

Nah, he's a putz because he won't bow and scrape before the Schwarzenegger machine. He ought to be tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail.

That's not my view, of course. I agree with you that McClintock is a highly experienced, principled, straight-talking, capable conservative. He's paid his dues and then some with faithful, consistent service in the trenches while the jet-setting Terminator was making fantasy films in Hollyweird and dining at the Kennedy compound in Martha's Vineyard.

Schwarzie's supporters don't have a clue where Arnie really stands on specific issues (although they conveniently ignore the clear liberal signals). They don't know because their guy doesn't have the guts to tell them. That's all right. They'll buy this pig in a poke and figure out what to do with it later.
