Put them in jail.
Cry me a river. They have not a thought about the poor kids they abused. Kids who have grown up confused and have led immoral lives due to having trusted would-be "holy men", the most trusted men in our society.
Now that they are caught in the act, they want to be absolved from their crime. NO DICE.
Don't be misled by Catholic Clergymen, such as sinkspur, again. He is a liar.
It would come as a major surprise to sinkspur that you think he has somehow mesmerized me. We are actually quite ogften quite antagonistic. Since we are both Catholic, hoever, we will agree from time to time. Leaving eternal judgment to God and refraining from wishing the eternal damnation of ohers are among those times. Plenty of people find their way to hell, each for his or her own reasons. We can retain enough dignity not to cheer them being sent to hell. My Baltimore Catechism informs me that God made me (and Geoghan and you) to know Him, love Him and serve Him in this world and to be hppy forever with Him in the next. Of course, like Ohio State football, this requires steady performance iof the three yards and a cloud of dust variety until death and that sins be repented sincerely. I cannot know the state of Geoghan's soul at the time he was strangled. Neither can you. Those who love God, love His agenda as stated above. The Lord's Prayer also prays to God: Thy will be done (not mine, not yours, not Geoghan's). If God wills it, it has to be a better idea than what you or I might will or Geoghan.
If you are going to make snide remarks about sinkspur (as I siometimes do) it is also polite and epected that you ping him (unless he says otherwise) so that he may respond. Otherwise, you are talking behind his back.
The punishment for Geoghan's crime was ten years and he faced more trials as well. It was not that he be murdered. Last time I checked, God had a whole commandment about that one. Thou shalt not kill (murder).
No one suggested absolving Geoghan of his crimes against the laws of Massachusetts. Actually, I am very enthusiastically in favor of the successful prosecution of each and every lavender queen or coverup artist (bishops) in an AmChurch Roman collar who can be prosecuted under law and for max punishment too. It makes the internal purge of the liberal AmChurch by actual Catholics that much easier when the bad guys are confined or executed at taxpayer expense under public authority. You may have noticed that they don't let us burn them at the stake any more. We have been forced to rely on the state. Fair enough. I don't think it is a good idea to delegate responsibility by negligence to J. Random Convict.
And you've got a major burr under your saddle against the Catholic Church, as an ex-Catholic. You're also rude as hell for gossipping behind another poster's back.
Just wanted to get that on the record.
