With Simon out, there's only one conservative in the race -- - McClintock's 1) the most experienced; 2) the most knowledgeable; 3) the one with the most well-articulated vision; 4) the one with Reagan-like CONVICTIONS (not convenient "opinions" adopted yesterday -- and subject to change tomorrow; 5) the one who's from the MIDDLE CLASS so he KNOWS that TAXES HURT -- he feels it in his bones, not through a focus group -- so we can trust him to keep his word.
NOTE: LYN NOFZIGER HAS JUST ENDORSED MCCLINTOCK!
Wrong! Thanks for playing!
HISTORY OF MODERATE REPUBLICANS
Nixon '68: Blew secure lead to within .1% of losing race.
Nixon '72: Won by landslide, but used dirty tricks that led to impeachment and near-collapse of Republican Party in 1974.
Ford '76: "No Soviet domination of Eastern Europe" remark in debates sank him in the polls and election. Maybe he was TOO moderate!
Bush '88: Won on 'unelectable' Reagan's coattails.
Bush '92: Broken No New Taxes Pledge led to Goldwater-like showing in the election.
Dole '96: 'Whatever' candidate now into second term --of doing Viagra and Pepsi ads.
Bush '00: Blew seventeen point lead to 537 votes by acting overconfident and not campaigning in Florida because he 'didn't need to.'
In light of the above, I'm not so sure that voting for Ah-node is a sure thing . . . indeed, it may be the best way to get Bustamante to get elected, when Ah-node melts down under Democrat pressure around October 1.
Lets see.....McCain, nah....Jeffords, nah, In fact, he switch parties. Chaffee, nah...Come on help me, I'm sure there may be at least one out there?
NOT TRUE. ---The sales tax increase wasn't allowed to sunset. They voted it to continue (at Wilson's urging): They said "police and fire" required it.
"""The taxes Wilson signed were all a temporary necessity.""" ONLY because Wilson didn't want to cut spending. HE's a liberal, my friend. That's why I'm worried about Arnold -- Wilson is his biggest advisor and backer. Grab your wallet!!!
That's almost exactly the amount Wilson gave us. You say they were "a necessity"? Then why won't it be just as "necessary" to raise taxes this time? Arnold's spokesman (when speaking with his guard down) said it might be. That's all I needed to know - - - more Pete Wilson liberalism up ahead. You're welcome to vote for it, but don't criticize me for prefering a real -- not fake -- conservative.

Only one problem, Tom cannot win!! Go Arnold!! Tom, quit now and do us all a favor!!
Thank you for acknowleging my expertise. I found your article very unclear. There is no recession. So what were you trying to say? I'm just trying to help you here. I was an English major. By the way, "DUH" is not a very intelligent response. Just ask for my help, and I will gladly edit your posts. Thanks in advance.
Ah yes, this again. Well, Mexicans make up roughly 30% of the population, but only made up 10% in the last election. (They don't normally vote, and most legals hate LA RASA racists like Bustamante, they are Americans)
Don't worry so much about Cruz- "N-Word" as things heat up, he is certain to do what he has a long history of doing in the limelight; absolutely make a complete fool out of himself.
What do you think j, you want me to smack this out of the park?
1994 - Proposition #184: Three-strikes, life imprisonment for repeat felons.
1994 - Proposition #187: Cut off state funds for Illegal Aliens.
1996 - Proposition #209: Ended statewide Affirmative Action
1998 - Proposition #227: Ended bilingual education
2000 - Proposition #22: Defined marriage as one man - one woman.
*long drive, way back, going going gone*
This state DOESN'T have moderate Republicans. As anyone can see, those Props aren't even moderate Right, those are Right Wing and they won handily. Why? Because there was no Republican politician to trust to implement it, its merely voting on the law directly.
What you and too many others prescibe is more of the cause as the cure. You want to hurt voter turnout, run a moderate Republican. History has shown this countless times, but since we keep running moderates and not supporting conservatives, because of this mythology, we lose. Then the "triangulationists" say "see see, that's why we need to be more liberal" and they make problem worse.
(R)nold will be the clincher, he will make the GOP, if he wins with a minority of the vote, indistinguishable from the Demos and destroy the party. And we are told to rally behind this? What is this the Twilight Zone?
Grania: Yes...but what I'm saying is George I had lost them anyway
I'm going to agree with Grania. George HW Bush was conducting a stupid campaign, "read my lips" haunted him, he was acting like a whiney brat, not at all presidential, making himself very hard to vote for. George HW must accept responsibility for losing those votes before Perot was able to snatch them up.
Stick with plain old upper and lowercase letters, or learn a little HTML to emphaisze your key phrases like this. You may well have some interesting things to contribute, but it's hard to tell when your text is clanging against my eyeballs.
...and Ronald Reagan in his primary race against Gerald Ford in '76.
