I don't think I share much common ground with a person who would come on a thread like this and trash what might be our only hope on October 7th. I think you've mistaken me for someone who doesn't try to support and try to sustain California's best viable long-term options, each of them.

RINO's always lose. True Conservatives like us always win because we have the truth on our side.

promise me no more rallying for second-best until at the earliest Sept 23rd.

I would be happy to support Tom McClintock if he runs for Boxer's seat. So will Arnie when he becomes governor of California.

You favor Arnold over McClintock?

Not a Conservative, are you?

Nothing personal, and I know this wasn't directed at me, however, I sure am getting tired of hearing this BULL SH*T.

*Compared* to the extreme leftist Davis, either one of these candidates would qualify to be members of the vast right wing conspiracy.

Either one would be *HUNDREDS* of times better for the great state of California, than the little communist Davis.

I would settle for either one! Would I like McClintok better? Yes. But again, if forced, settling for Schwarzenegger is many times better than Davis.

It's like comparing Bush to Barney Frank. There is no comparison.

Only problem is, one of these guys has to drop out before the election.

Yep, I know all about it. You're preaching to the choir bud. I support McClintock over Schwarzenegger, but I'm not going to stand by and watch ill-concieved attempts to trash what may very well be our only option left on October 7th.

True Conservatives like us always win because we have the truth on our side.

An interesting statement, considering that Rats swept every statewide office in your state in the last election. But keep that sense of optimism - its charming.

"I, for one, would be MUCH happier with McClintock sworn in on the capitol steps but let's be practical here. As of right now, it doesn't look good for him!"

Whaddya mean ? Bill Simon just got out. His supporters go to Tom.

"I like the things Arnold is saying right now. He's no different than Cruz? Will, Cruz is SURE to try to raise taxes, for Arnold, it might happen but unless you can see the future, it isn't clear that he's going to try to raise taxes."

You like hearing this ? That he'll raise your taxes at some point... possibly ? Dude, I just had a RINO Governor and he went absolutely tax-happy. Set aside all of the social issues for a moment, economically-speaking, Ah-nold will follow the line of every other RINO and raise your taxes. He's got a "visionary" Socialist agenda to impose, and he needs the $$ to do it. Now, would you rather a 'Rat do it and have a viable Republican party put a stop to it, or a "Republican" do it and have NO ONE stop it ? It's your choice.

So will Arnie when he becomes governor of California.

Like I said, leave the "when" talk til at least Sept 23rd or after. Lets just say all the cards are not on the table yet, my friend from Texas. Comprende?

Perhaps my # 41 at http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/969174/posts will allow you to see where I am coming from.

Ah, yes--I remember when you first came on board, and I thought you were a troll . . .

IMHO we have a problem, and that problem is the identity of "we the people."

The liberal knows "the people"--a.k.a. "the masses"--as an inferior lot to be patronized and exploited. A liberal--e.g., Al Gore--can speak of "the forgotten middle class."

But the conservative identifies with the people in their potential, not in their weakness. A conservative thinks of society as consisting of islands of expertise--in large matters and small--distributed widely and worthy of cultivation. A conservative couldn't possibly forget the middle class, because a conservative thinks of "we the people" as having intelligence as well as intrinsic worth. A wealthy conservative does not patronize those with less wealth/income, and is on that account reluctant to characterize anyone as "poor." And if the conservative is loathe to even characterize anyone as less than middle class, and also unwilling to kowtow to those with more money than themselves by calling them rich, the conservative could not possibly "forget the middle class."

Ronald Reagan was a VIP all his adult life; certainly from the time he started getting fan mail when he broke into the movies (if not, indeed, when he was a famous radio sportscaster soon after he graduated from college). He made enough money fast enough to be personally exercised over the unfairness of income taxation in the 90% bracket, which made it not worthwhile to work as much as he would have been able/inclined to do. Yet he identified sincerely with the middle class, with we-the-people without class distinction. He had to, because he respected his parents--and they were by today's standards certifiably "poor."

Come to your senses - Arnold isn't a moderate he's a Liberal!

Mitt Romney is a Moderate Republican. Bob Ehrlich is a Moderate Republican. Condoleeza Rics is a Moderate Republican.

Arnold is a Liberal Republican.

After the trash you've posted on this thread, you have the nerve to say that to me?

Arnold Schwarzenegger may be the only option we have left on October 7th. You've spent the morning (our time) trashing this man despite the fact that he's all that stands between us and the likes of a racist separatist.

Bustamante is to hispanics what KKK supremacists are to whites. You're helping to deligitimize what may be our only option against him, and yet tell me I'm not helpful.

Well, thanks for that news flash.

How exactly do you think Busty will achieve separatism ? I'm not being sarcastic, I'm just interested to hear how he can accomplish this.

Its because we had RINO's in office like Frank Keating. Oklahomans thought they were fed up with Republicans, when it was really liberal Republicans they were fed up with.

So we ended up with a RAT governor.
