I'm sorry, but it did and still does strike me as extremely funny that any poster here would identify with Arnold's Hollywood mega-wages.

Doesn't it strike you as even more humorous that some here would deify a career politician (McClintock) who has reportedly never held a job in the private sector?

Or maybe I'm the only one not making $30 million a year.

Well, I could make it on 30 mil per annum I guess; I'd have to make some economies and go to store-brand mac and cheese in the pantry, but I'd survive ;)

Are you saying that Jeb Bush lives on $120,000 a year?

I appreciate your concern about "electability", but shouldn't policy count for something? OR do you just want to elect a donkey in elephant's clothes?

This isn't fun, son. Watching so-called Conservatives sell their souls for a few pieces of silver (actually, if you rub the silver, you'll note it's really worthless wooden nickels) isn't fun at all, it's shameful. I support Republican candidates who support the platform, not phony RINOs who embrace the entirety of the 'Rat agenda and more failed Socialism. I had 8 years of a RINO Governor and he begat us a 'Rat and a big friggin' economic mess. No more. I'm here to wake people up and lead them away from this Ah-nold fraud. With any luck, we'll preserve the CA GOP in spite of the RINO hordes.

And you would rather have the Rats control EVERYTHING in California, like they do now??! Rats are better than RINOs? And exactly how is this strategy going to help conservatives in GOP get back into power?

I think this deicsion gives McClintock enough political cover to stay in the race at least until the middle of September or early October.

If the race is still close, I expect party leaders to ask him to quit then. (after getting Uberroth out of the race)

I'll let you figure out the rest of the facts. Gov Bush has publicly disclosed his tax return in each election in FL. Janet Reno and every Dem FL candidate was worth more than he is in financial terms, again, FYI.

Not at all my belief about incomes and political beliefs.

Have no clue where you could arrive at such an idea.

I prefer even to treat politicians on an individual basis--though hypoRATS are likely to be classed with Billdo and Shrillery unless there is some stark evidence to the contrary.

Right....me a liberal? So, just what the "consequences" that you feel are your duty to threaten those with who don't support McClintock?

Face the facts and play politics.

"Voters in favor of recall is now down to 50%"

Don't believe it. That number is from an LA Times poll, and the LA Times is a left-wing publication.

Sorry, no dice. No liberal frauds masquerading as Republicans, period. You got it ? There's ONE Republican in this race now, and his name is Tom McClintock.

LOL....well, look, like I said: this is for CA voters to figure out. I just wish them the best. It will be heartbreaking though, if Arnold, with no political experience whatsoever, turns out to be a bigger flop as CA gov than Davis. I would think McClintock, with 20 years of proposing the ideas that CA now wants, might be able to get CA to a better place -- but maybe I am wrong. Who knows. The CA voters will decide it. :)

I am more confused than ever before as to why people are gah gah over Arnold. Especially some people here on this forum.

I haven't see one poster "gah gah" over Arnold. The ones who support him do so reluctantly, believing that he's the only real shot for the GOP to win this election. I'd imagine if Bustamonte were taken out of the equation and the race were between McClintock and Schwarzenegger exclusively (an impossibility, of course), 99% would favor McClintock.

Party leaders have ALREADY told McClintock to quit. Like Simon, he'll be gone from the race before Labor Day. It's 43 days and counting...and the field needs to be cleared and have only 1 viable GOP choice. If even the Lincoln Club of Orange County is calling on McClintock to quit, then the writing is on the wall for him.

One more thing, if McClintock drops out, what in heaven's name would keep the pressure on Arnold to pledge not to raise taxes or come out in favor of other conservative or strict constructionist positions? (If someone responds Ubberroth, my answer would be to get real please ;-). Maybe the entire reason that team Arnold avoids specifics is because he has just been waiting opportunistically for Simon and McClintock to drop out. Arnold is a likeable guy, but he is still a schmuck IMHO for this and a plethora of other concerns, not the least of which is his announced pro gun control attitude. With Republicans like Arnold around waiting to come into power in Calif., who needs Democrats?

This isn't a primary where you afford to take that view. You have extraordinary circumstances that give you a shot at removing a disaster in the form of Davis.Grab it and make progress while you may, with whatever slim chances you have with Arnold.

California needs hope and Arnie is your ONLY shot.

Watch Sean Hannity on Hannity and Colmes and you'll see someone gah gah. And, yes, I have seen some on this forum gah- gah over Arnold. But, hey, maybe they all see something I don't.

If you keep repeating baloney, does that make them true in your own fantasy world ?

Note to you: the Republican Party IS the Conservative Party. The 'Rat party IS the Liberal Party. Ah-nold is a Liberal, he's running in the WRONG party. Is that clear enough to YOU ?

Ronald Reagan has NO political experience when he was elected governor back in 1966. George W. Bush had NO political experience when he was elected governor of Texas in 1994. They did excellent jobs in the statehouse and both went on to be terrific presidents.
