I don't need to check out the History books, I understand what the Founders did, unlike you.

They avoided placing a sectarian connotation on "God" in the Declaration of Independence "the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God", "that they are endowed by their Creator".

The Founders, having the opportunity to declare the US a Christian nation by the simple mentioning of Jesus Christ ANYWHERE in the Founding Documents, chose not to do so.

Nasty little angry thing, aren't you? Why such anger? Afraid you'll be cast out before your time?
No "wall of separation between church and state" exists in the U.S. Constitution. It is part of the old Socialist Soviet Russian Constitution, though, but America is a Free Republic, so it's simply anti-Christ propaganda. The only constitutional reference to religion appears in the First Amendment (1791), which prevents the government from establishing any particular sectarian denomination. It reads: "Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." That's it. No "wall of separation." Nothing about purging religious expression from the public square.

You say that with just a little too much glee for my taste.

I did not notice any glee, but then again I can't read minds like some Freepers. I did notice that this was succinct and irrefutable.

Why dont you help your butt-buddies at the ACLU - they are looking high and low for Ten Commandment monuments in Utah, so they can squash 'em like bugs. Kind of funny though, if these things are so oppressive, why do they have to search to even find them: http://www.foe.com/neweagletalk/_disc3/000001bf.htm

This is posted on the acluutah.org home page... Eagles and the ten commandments under attack...

Action Alert: Help the ACLU of Utah find the last Ten Commandments monument on government property in Utah. During the 1950’s and 1960’s the Fraternal Order of Eagles donated 9 Ten Commandments monuments to cities and towns in Utah. As of today, all but one of the monuments has been located.

In recent months local civil rights attorney Brian Barnard and the ACLU of Utah have negotiated with the cities of Roy, Tooele and Ogden to get these monuments moved from government to private property in Utah. Mr. Barnard is currently working on getting the recently discovered monument in Pleasant Grove removed from public property. Other cities including Provo decided to move their monuments to private property before we got involved. Monuments have also been located and removed from public property in Salt Lake City and Murray. West Valley also has a monument located on private property in front of their Aerie Lodge. Every city where a monument has been found also has an Eagles Aeries Lodge within the city.

Recently a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles stated that there is one monument left in Utah on government property. We need your help to find the last monument.

Please go visit your local public parks and city buildings to see if the monument is there. We are particularly interested in looking for the monument in Logan, Brigham City, Hurricane, Midvale, Midway and Tremonton.

The monuments are made of a reddish gray marble, are rounded on the top and are in the form of two tablets side by side.

If you find it, contact our office at 521-9862 x 103 or Brian Barnard at 328-9531.

...Is the name "Jesus Christ" in the 10 Commandments?? What's the problem?
