we were not allowed to give him a mere sip of water, even if he asked for it, we were only allowed to swab his mouth. I have still not fully recovered emotionally from the ordeal, not sure I ever will.

I'm not sure you should.

Actually, I need to get a grip on it, it has been 2 years now since he died. I had a nervous breakdown, am still having anxiety attacks and have developed high blood pressure. I have bitten my lips until they bleed, I just can't seem to stop, I do it unconsciously. I also have problems concentrating, which is making my work life difficult. I loathe psychiatrists and refuse to go on psychotropic drugs so I am just going to have to struggle through it somehow. I am just thankful he died a month before 9/11 and he did not have to witness that, he was such a patriot, it would have broken his heart. One of my favorite memories was when I drove all the way to Missouri from Texas to take him down in his wheelchair to vote for Bush. He was a Deacon before he got ill, but the mere mention of Clinton's name sparked profanities, LOL!
