The 3rd Caliph, Uthman or Osman, apparently hired what were then mathematicians to put the Quran in some kind of order - before then it was just collections of poetry with no order - the mathematicians supposedly deleted enough and added enough to make the number 19 very special to the Quran - an Islamic reformer named Rashad Khalifa wrote books about it, and translated the Qoran himself to explain the mathematical ideosynchacies(sp) of the Quran ("Quran the Final Testament."

Khalifa was murdered about 11 years ago, supposedly by Fuqua, a radical Islamist organization that makes bin Laden look like a puppy dog.
