I think it is a great idea. I've been real tempted to try to send my son to an all boys school. He's very smart, but he needs school to be hands on and fast paced.
The co-ed schools pander to girls currently. They do not teach in a style that is good for boys. There is too much sitting, and not enough hands on activities.

My son went to an all-male Catholic High School. He did great. The guys got to be very macho, sometimes things were said in the classroom that could be construed as a little off-color-just the thing to let the pressure off these kids. They need to just be guys! The male teachers let them get away with being a little noisy, a little rowdy, put if push came to shove, the teachers had the right stuff and handled these guys. The boys grew into men, really nice young men, and, as a mom visiting, I was always treated respectfully. Now, I have gone to the local public school and never seen that level of respect NOR that level of real confidence I saw in those young men. I like single sex education, it may not be for everyone, but it works for many. V's wife.
