I hope someone does come up with a way to stop this nonsense. Those windmills are ugly, take up a lot of space, and are harmful to birds and the environment. An oil well that can produce the same amount of energy takes up far less land and is far less destructive to the environment.

The key word here is ONE. One is kind of neat, but the farms (which are required to make much energy) are awful. Have you seen a farm?
I'd rather see oil wells. I did like the cute oil wells in CA that were put in agricultural fields and decorated to look like giant grasshoppers.
