[history]
On March 20, Russian PresidentVladimir Putin denounced the U.S.-led "aggression" against Iraq as "unwarranted" and "unjustifiable." Three days later, Pravda said that an anonymous Russian "military expert" was predicting that the United States would fabricate finding Iraqi weapons of mass destruction. Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov immediately started plying the idea abroad, and it has taken hold around the world ever since.

Ever since Putin turned on Blair during a joint speech I have been suspicious of him. He set Blair up in May. He was to appear with Blair to show how great the two were getting along. During the Q & A session a reporter asked about WMD. Putin turned to Blair and astonishingly enough egged him on with tuants of "Where are those WMD you've told us all about". It was as if Putin knew where they were so he could be very confident about his tuanting.

Primakov was in Baghdad from December until a couple of days before the war, along with a team of Russian military experts led by two of Russia's topnotch "retired"generals,Vladislav Achalov, a former deputy defense minister, and Igor Maltsev, a former air defense chief of staff. I often wonder about Dr. Rice's trip to Russia, this spring, and what happened during her discussions there.

Doubtless, this will lead the evening news on all 3 networks. Yes, the lead will be: "Invasion Wasn't Necessary". We could have just started the war to get them to dump their stuff and then stopped. (Of course that ignores the programs, I.E. the ability to make more. But that's just too detailed for us, the ignorant general public.)

Didn't the French and German governments start singing the similar tune in harmony with Putin?
