[history]
Two years ago, Lt. Gov. Amy Tuck said her opinion on whether Mississippi should keep or discard the state flag's Confederate battle emblem was a private one.
But now, as she heads into what could be a challenging re-election bid, she's more revealing on where she stood on an issue that tested politicians, riled both black and white residents and mobilized conservatives.

Go get 'em Amy! I've always wondered how Barbara Blackmon and her husband could represent Canton and the surrounding district as state senator and representative respectively but send their son to school in Jackson. Don't you have to pay taxes and live in a school district to send your children to school there?

Joe Parker, a political scientist at the University of Southern Mississippi, said Tuck could be trying to highlight the fact she's white when her Democratic opponent, state Sen. Barbara Blackmon, is black. This guy hates the fact that Mississippi's one party rule days are coming to a close. He cannot stand the thought of a viable Republican Party on the statewide level. He also thinks that Republicans are by nature racists.
