US soldier killed in Iraq
From correspondents in Baghdad 21aug03
A US soldier was killed in Iraq after the vehicle he was travelling in collided with another vehicle when his supply convoy came under fire near ad-Diwaniyah, the US army said in a statement today.
"One 3rd Corps Support Command soldier was killed and another injured in a two-vehicle accident while driving south on the main supply route southeast of the town of ad-Diwaniyah," around 180km south of Baghdad, Central Command said in a statement.
"The soldiers were driving in a supply convoy of Palletized Loading System (PLS) vehicles when they received small arms fire and struck another vehicle.
Both soldiers are attached to the 3rd COSCOM operating out of Kuwait," it said.
"Security, medical and recovery assets were dispatched to the scene. One soldier died as a result of the accident. The other soldier was treated and returned to duty," the statement said, adding that the incident was under investigation.

May God welcome him home.

Yeah this is too bad. But we knew all along that this kind of thing will happen. The soldiers who give their lives in Iraq are heroes of immense historical stature. God blesses them all.

This is not good - it has been pretty quiet in that area. Prayers for his family and for all our soldiers and Marines there.

Marches on to what? Building a "democratic unitary nation" out of this mess. Can't happen.

Marches on to what? Building a "democratic unitary nation" out of this mess. Can't happen. So we quit and ask for a refund? The egg has been broken and it is time to cook, not quit like a liberal.
How does that sound?
