From the unreal point of view, reality can be like that. I very much admire Alan Keyes and I do not think he is fairly lumped with Sobran. Buchanan has indulged himself in columns (which may have resulted from overdoses of Scotch) claiming such inanities as the one that the Jewish death toll from Zyklon B (sp.?) in the Nazi death camps could not have been 6 million because he knows of a train that got stuck in a long mountain tunnel and was loaded with passengers and pumped out carbon monoxide in the tunnel for hours without anyone dying (????). That whopper appeared in the Wanderer, which I respect (except for its recent isolationist foreign policy bent). I have every confidence that Pat is a great person, a great human being and a great ally and a great dinner companion. His personal life seems to be a model to be emulated. He simply has gone round the bend of this paleobaloney and on bullheadedly picking at Jewish scabs which is unsporting, not very polite, and needlessly self-destructive to his political reputation even among many of his fellow Catholic Jesuit prep school alumni (way back when the Jebbies were still Catholic) like me.
Sobran consorts with an extremely disreputable crowd like Sam Francis, the Rockford Institute, and the plain old garden variety anti-Jewish crackpot elements whom he encourages with his incessant Jew-bashing. I am acquainted with him and have been on a religious retreat with him. I admire his writing talent and wish he would get the well-chewed old slippers out of his mouth and start using his writing talent for things other than anti-Semitism and paleo-irrelevancy and offensive antiwar nonsense in time of war and his evident disappointment in not living in 1793 or something when the Federalists were in flower.
I assume, BTW, that you are not suggesting by the quotation marks that I have been critical of Keyes and that you were merely planting a customary false axiom as a member of paleopoliticalfarmers of America.

No, I am not suggesting that you have been critical of Keyes. BTW, I supported Keyes for the Republican nomination. I just find his fews to be more traditional conservative than the neocons.
I will quote now.
"...offensive anti-war nonsense in time of war..."
Did Congress ever FORMALLY declare war or did it simply give GWB the discretion to make war through one of the many post-WWII "War Powers" Acts? It appears that we have an aversion to FORMALLY declaring war, then we wage war, and call it such. The conflict with the constitution on such confuses me.
I guess I am simple-minded.
