If you want Bustamante to win, then you are a DEMOCRAT. Your illogical libel aside, I want conservatives to win -- period. I want pro-Life candidates to win -- period. I want pro-2nd Amendment candidates to win -- period. I want anti-illegal immigration candidates to win -- period.
Is Schwarzenegger a pro-life, pro-2nd Amendment, anti-illegal immigration candidate? NO.

There are many things that can be cut before Education Education is 40% of the budget... So if you have a $100 billion budget, and you don't touch 40 billion of it, you are left with 60 billion, and a 28 billion hole. Try cutting everything by half and see how that plays. It is a mess. I pity whoever wins this thing.
To: Tempest
I do not think that is a fair guess. Take a look at the poll results here on Free Republic. If the McClintock supporters are really Bustamante Democrats in drag, then they outnumber the Arnold contingent here.
The fact is that since announcing, Arnold has done quite a few things (such as bringing in Warren Buffett) which have given many conservatives more than a little pause.
Is it fatal for his campaign? I do not know. But I do know that one can be the type of conservative who generally thinks it is better to win elections than to take a hard line in defeat and still think there are times when you have to take a harder line. Warren Buffett is not involved to make the world more along the lines of what people like me think. He is involved because he wants it to be more like people like Hillary want.
Maybe Arnold is simply using Buffett. But I cannot just give that presumption. Arnold has to give me reasons to support him, since he squandered the presumption with Buffett.

Do you want an actor in Sacramento or an executive with years of political experience? The choice is yours. Deja vu. So I assume you would have voted for the experienced political executive Pat Brown over the actor Reagan in '66?

Looks to me like a Win/Win situation for the Democrat party. How did conservatives get into this mess? How do we get out of it?
To: Hildy
Dirtboy, why don't you concentrate on your State, eh?Hildy, why don't you kiss off? This race has national implications for 2004 - I really don't want Arnold sucking the air out of the 2004 convention by drawing all the media attention and promoting his anti-conservative values.

Consider this: even if he is elected, and if he does focus on keeping taxes low, it is in large part through the efforts of McClintock supporters that he received the message that he must keep taxes low.

Quick! Someone fetch the rabid Bustamante errrrr I mean McClintock supporters we have to make sure that he's not allowed to speak! There are 1 million more registered Democrats in California than than Republicans. Most of the independents are liberal groups as well. A vote for McClintock is a vote to make the GOP 2 time losers in California. Good job.
Quick, a vote for arnold is a vote for someone with policy ideas equivalent to Teddy Kennedy. Boy, that is a great idea, let's all jump off that bridge b/c he claims to be a republican. Who is the lemming here?
