If Arnold is going to have the Hoover Institution involved in fixing things, I feel the liberals tremble, at their approach.
The best minds of Conservative policy are at Hoover.

Well, actually, show me the proof that the people who voted for McClintock for comptroller would NOT vote for him for governor.

The damn media is talking over him.......I'll grant this to Arnold - he seems like he has the gift of making the media look like idiots, not that they need much help.

Compromise is compromise. Not having principles is not having principles. You might need to slow down a little bit . . . . .

"I heard McClintock say on the radio the other day that when the time comes, he's ready to accept Arnies endorsement. Sounds like he's not bowing out."
I heard that too. A great response! I think it also indicates that he expects to be polling better than Arnold come election day. I think the implication is that he would be willing to drop out, if Arnold was doing better. We'll know in a few weeks how this will turn out. The 3 must become 1 to get rid of Davis and Bustamove.

Unless and until California conservative GOPers GROW UP and support ALL party candidates, not just their blue-blood conservatives, they will continue to be the perennially irrelevant chihuahuas barking at the legs of the Rats who control the state. (Standing on my chair and cheering!)

How do you think the liberal agenda advanced as it did? Because Liberals understand incrementalism. They understand the need to stick together and understand thatyou don't get everything you want all at once. So they trudge on like turtles and little by little they get what they want. Not it's our turn. But of course, we'll blow it. Because it seems like it's all or nothing to you guys and the Dems understand that and they use it against us. So who's really smarter, huh? Someone who loses and has their Principles? Or someone who wins and gets 20% of what they wanted?

Is Bloomberg a conservative?
No, but what Bloomberg is, is a perfect example of the damage someone who is a hard core Democrat at heart can do if they masquerade as a Republican.
I am not quite where dirtboy is yet. I am not ready to put Arnold into the Bloomberg category. And Guiliani showed that RINOs can sometimes do very well, and be a net positive, and do so without pulling the party left significantly (he's been pretty non-ideological since becoming "America's mayor").
The question is-- is Arnold like a Romney or a Pataki, or a Bloomberg? If he's the former, I can support him to some degree in a place like California. If he is a Bloomberg, then I cannot.
The Buffett thing is not an encouraging sign in this regard.

Education is one of the big reasons for the budget deficit. Public schools are GUARANTEED a specific percentage of the state budget; it's non-discretionary Fox News reported the other day that 80% of the state budget was guaranteed as a result of successful propositions. Makes it kind of hard to control the budget when most of it is off the table.
Not so sure why you are so upset over education, especially K-12. California schools suck and the state spends well under the national average on education. More than likely the money isnt being spent well but I dought that you can really make a strong case for lowering state education expenditures in the short term. I mean there are certain things that the state governments are responsible for. Education is one of them.
