This is why every school levy must be opposed whenever they pop up on the ballot. State funding for public school should be reduced to match the quality of the "product" they are producing and federal funding for public schools MUST be eliminated. The beast is too big to be fought back in its current condition. The only way to beat it is to starve it to death....but this will NEVER happen. The soccer moms will vote to tripple their neighbors property taxes if the public schools threaten to cut soccer or football or other activities that the schools have no business engaging in in the first place. The three magic words that make their eyes glaze over and obediently do as they're told are "...for the children."
