I had not heard of this situation before ... so maybe I shouldn't be so quick to react BUT what's motivating the husband? Money? Insurance money? Another woman? Sick of dealing with the situation? What? Something is.

Yea nmh, it appears to be for the money.

Many years ago, he sued his wife's doctors for malpractice and won. But the catch was, as long as she's alive the money has to go towards her care (hundreds of thousands of dollars). So for the past ten years he has done everything in his power to make sure Terri hasn't been able to improve at all (to the degree of not even allowing nurses to brush her teeth for the past ten years).

The husband has guardian rights. The parents have begged him to allow them to take over Terri's care, even to allowing him to keep all the malpractice money. But he won't give up the guardianship. Terri has been slated to die several times in the past few years, and it appears next Monday they're finally going to murder her.

Go to her website. The facts are there. If it's a little slanted, it's only because a mother and father are fighting to save their daughter. They have a video you can watch, decide for yourself if you think she's a vegetable or not.

I started another topic, the article explains a lot.

Dehumanizing the Disabled was written by Terri's father and explains a lot of what has happened in the court battle.
