Indonesian police say a Malaysian bombmaker was responsible for both the Bali bombings last year and the hotel bombing in Jakarta earlier this month.
Indonesia's chief of detectives says Azahari bin Husin - who was educated in Australia - is one of a group of 16 who were involved in the latest attack on the Marriott hotel.
Many of those involved are already in custody.
Dr Azahari is still at large, along with another Bali bomb suspect named in connection to the Marriott attack, fellow Malaysian Noordin Mohammed Top.
Two others already under arrest in connection with the Bali plot and other attacks, Mohammad Riau and Idris, have now been named as suspects in the Marriott attack.
Idris is alleged to have recruited the man named Asmar who police believe was the hotel suicide bomber.
Indonesian police also believe the recently arrested Jemaah Islamiah chief, Hambali, sent $US45,000 through a Malaysian man to fund bombings in Indonesia just two months ago.
Indonesia names 16 Jakarta bomb suspects
Indonesian police have released a list of 16 suspects in the deadly bombing at the Marriott Hotel in central Jakarta on August 5.
The National Police's Detective Unit Chief Erwin Mappaseng told a press conference that the suspects include Asmar Latin Sani and Tohir, who were the alleged executors of the bombing, and Azahari bin Husin, who is thought to have led the group.
Asmar was among those killed in the bombing and parts of his body were found on the scene.
Six of the suspects were arrested before the bombing in connection with other criminal cases, four were arrested afterward, and five, including Tohir, are still at large, police said.
The hotel bombing killed 12 people and injured 150 others.
He said that the Jemaah Islamiah (JI) is suspected of having carried out the attack.
JI is also blamed for the Bali attack which killed 202 people last October and a string of other bombings.
