Could this person be related to Tonya Harding?
Speaking as a sailor, I would volunteer to go to sea to avoid that thing. So in that sense, perhaps it is the face that launched a thousand ships. Heck, she's probably single-handedly (no pun intended) responsible for the navy filling their enlistment quotas.

Last woman I ever read about that has any correlation to this is described below in her last minutes of life:
