A group of back-bench Liberals privately tried to enlist the U.S. deputy drug czar last month to help stop federal plans to decriminalize marijuana, a memo from a Canadian official in the meeting saysI'm somewhat confused about this....does the word "liberal" mean something different in the Great White North?
If not, some of our most cherished and lovable WOD FReepers are liberals.

Yup. Just as pathetic as our Supreme Court citing foreign rulings in coming to decisions.

Liberals everywhere want to save you from yourself.
To: MrLeRoy
"Pretty pathetic---"Please come bully our country into line with our minority view."You're right. When making a decision like this, the Canadian parliment has no need to know how the U.S. will react to the wording of the measure.
Damn the consequences!

When making a decision like this, the Canadian parliment has no need to know how the U.S. will react to the wording of the measure.Red herring. The very first words of the article make it clear that this was baout much more than 'know how the U.S. will react':
"A group of back-bench Liberals privately tried to enlist the U.S. deputy drug czar last month to help stop federal plans to decriminalize marijuana".

That is one side of the story.

"That is one side of the story."
And since it involves members of the Liberal Party of Canada, you can bet there are several sides, all profitable.
To: robertpaulsen
That is one side of the story. LOL! And I suppose that the accounts of "Baghdad Jim" McDermott's attempts to save Saddam's ass were just "one side of the story".

"Brenda Chamberlain, who attended the meeting with a handful of other MPs, said that the members were not asking Barry Crane to lean on the federal government to halt the bill. Rather, Ms. Chamberlain said she wanted Mr. Crane to reaffirm what the consequences of the bill might be."The above is from post #17.
You said the intent was to stop; this just confirms that the intent is to inform.
I'm right, you're wrong, what's new.
To: robertpaulsen
Lap up that government spin.
Can you snap treats off your nose, too?
