Diplomacy's messy. We could not take him out without destabilizing the ME and Asia before 9-11. We did not actively support this monster after the Gulf War. We did set up and pay for the no-fly zones, helped the Kurds establish a strong community in the north. We did do everything possible to rally the world when we could - after 9-11, after it was clear to all what those like Saddam Hussein were willing to do. Our President made the effort. Our troops are making the sacrifices.
