No they won't see the light. Doesn't matter what the truth is, this incident will be a major launching pad to attack Bush with even greater fervor than before. All you will hear is why wasn't the US protecting, this wouldn't have happened if we didn't make 'em mad over there, blah blah

Linda Vesters show was just quoting some UN Security Council representative, when asked if this changed the UN relationship with Arab countries, said " a red line has been drawn."
Whatever that means, but strong words from diplomats

Sad to hear. Prayers to his family.

Strong words from diplomats, indeed. Not as strong as a line in the sand, but strong for diplomats, as you said, Prairiebreeze.

Ouch, that's not good. I wonder how Annan is going to respond to this...
Oh, and it seems that our Senators were very lucky indeed. From FOX:
"Several members of the U.S. Congress were in Baghdad touring military sites when the explosion happened and were scheduled to tour the U.N. facility sometime later in the day. None was hurt. They were have to held discussions with Sergio Vieira de Mello, the chief U.N. official in Iraq, who was injured [make that killed] in the attack."
Makes you wonder who the real target was, De Mello or the senators.

The UN in Iraq distanced itself from the evil coalition troops and rejected our security services. The spokesman for the UN envoy seemed perplexed that the UN would be targeted. He said,"We are here to help bring the occupation to an end."
Not help improve life for the Iraqi people, not help end terrorism, but rid Iraq of the evil Americans. The fifth column media in the US and the leadership of the 'rats have given encouragement to terrorists around the world.
To: prairiebreeze
I'm sure the terrorists are chuckling in their soiled gowns in their ratholes over that 'red line' remark!

Good catch re UN saying they were there to end the "occupation" (rather than saying they were there to get medical help, etc. to the Iraqi people).

Hey pal .. they UN left itself wide open for an attack by not having ANY kind of protection A salient point being carefully avoided in the media. Probably not good for the UN "Image" to be protrayed as the idiots they are.
They (UN spokespeople) just go on to say they are shocked this would happen to their association that is supposed to be helping everyone. Do you get the not-so-hidden- message? (UN available to help terrorists, in their minds)
