If the White House is to feel comfortable nominating a judge such as Pryor to the Supreme Court, the Senate Judiciary chairman will have to be conservative—meaning not Arlen Specter. This will take an act of courage, either by Grassley, or the GOP Senate leadership.

You are right, Sarge, RINOs check their backbone in with the concierge when they enter an establishment. So even if the Senate had 60 GOP members, a "Chairman" Specter would still be there to do the work of Daschle, unless PA Republicans intervene in their 2004 primary.
