Best-selling men's issues author Warren Farrell discussed his historic men's and fathers' rights campaign for Governor of California on His Side with Glenn Sacks on KRLA 870 AM in Los Angeles at 11 PM on Sunday, August 17. To listen to the archived version of the show, go to His Side .
Farrell detailed his research on the importance of fathers and put forth his long-term solution to relieving California's budget problems--keeping fathers in children's lives. Farrell noted that the ways family courts allow divorced dads to be driven out of their children's lives leads to high levels of violent crime and teenage pregnancy--social pathologies which "cost California billions in costs for prisons, courts and social services." Farrell proposed a package of reforms to solve this problem, including the rebuttable presumption of joint custody and placing legal limits on post-divorce move-aways.
Farrell also explained why women should vote for him and why his candidacy represents an important step in building a men's and fathers' rights vote which politicians will seek.
Callers included Mike, who described the way family courts "destroy fathers," and Raegan, a paternity fraud activist who believes that women need to help the men's and fathers' movement just as many men helped the feminist movement.
Also joining Warren and Glenn was Marc Angelucci, president of the National Coalition of Free Men Los Angeles, a men's and fathers' rights organization. Angelucci discussed his group's progress with paternity fraud legislation and the ways courts and child support enforcement agencies mistreat low-income fathers.
Farrell will be speaking at a Fathers' Rights rally sponsored by NCFM-LA and other groups on Tuesday, August 26 in downtown Los Angeles. The rally will be held from 9:00a.m. to noon in front of the Los Angeles Superior Court at 600 South Commonwealth Ave. For more info call NCFM-LA at (818) 907-9383 or go to www.NCFMLA.org.
why don't we who call ourselves adults actually think of the children before we pull all the stops to make their lives as miserable as possible....
parents have got to put their stupid, petty little ego's away, decide where the kids should stay which should be at one house, at one school, church, etc....
bouncing kids back and forth is ridiculous...it disrupts a child's academics, his sports, his friendships, etc....
if parents can not agree, I think letting the kids stay in the main house and having the parents move in and out throughout the week makes more sense....why punish the kids for the parents...
mainly, when will people learn that marrying and having kids is not just a light-hearted committment.....
husbands and wives used to stay together for the sake of the kids, and grew as individuals and lovers as time went on....
I would bet that most all baby boomers parents would be canidates for divorce now if they gave up as easily as so many people give up on marriage nowadays...
