There is a hint of acknowledgement that some of us call these people "Chicken D's" in the first line. I never thought I'd see the SEN call what the runaways were doing "roosting."
Also, the paper quotes Shapleigh as saying that their constituents are a "constitutionally protected class of voters." How often will you get the Dems to admit that this is a matter of "Constitutionally protected class" vs. "unprotected class"?
Every argument made by the runaways is about race - those whose votes count and those whose votes are trashed by the actions of the runaways in New Mexico.

It appears that hispanics are about to lose their minority status.
Whites will be the new minority.

"All but one of the Democratic holdouts represent districts that are at least 61 percent minority, with three of them Sens. Shapleigh, Royce West of Dallas and Eddie Lucio of Brownsville in districts that are 79 percent minority or more."
Who in the hell is looking out for the non-minority minorities in those 11 districts?
Don't ya just love the population explosion created by MASSIVE illegal aliens. The citizens willl just have to keep on paying for their healthcare, education, and incarceration.

Nothing new here.
The real question, as always, is why on God's green earth would any working, traditional white American vote Democrat? The rank stupidity of some people simply boggles the mind.

If I were in one of these districts, I'd feel even more disenfranchised than I do by the runaways. They are holding my vote hostage across state lines, but at least they aren't *supposed* to represent me. Well, not technically, I guess.
But, I'd try for some sort of legal action against them for never even pretending to represent "Anglos." If I could prove I'm "Anglo."

The Democrats have nothing to lose by playing what George Skelton called the "Pummel Pedro" card. Just paint the GOP as anti-Latino. Make the Republicans the future Texas Chicken Littles.

They don't care about you unless you express a desire fort extra points to enter college or get a job based on your race or gender, they think you need an abortion, welfare, or same sex union, or are in the act of expressing your hate for the Christian religion or the government of the US.
The Dems even hate those of color who do not meet the criteria above. Black men and women are not, according to Maxine Waters of Califormia, "our kind of black."

Who in the hell is looking out for the non-minority minorities in those 11 districts? I live in a district like that in Houston. My representative to the state house is Tejana Democrat Jessica Farrar, and my U.S. Representative is Sheila Jackson Lee. I've called Lee's office before, and I assure you that as soon as they hear my voice on the phone, they turn their brains off and go into "mailing it in" mode.

It appears that hispanics are about to lose their minority status. Watch. The race-pimp pols will flip their position and insist that CRA '65 doesn't apply to them, but only to the historically and endogamously evil people.

If I recall correctly, the last time I voted I didn't have to indicate my race. It's about elections. It's about our republican form of government. These idiots are pushing my limits.

I listened to the link last night.
I was surprised by how closely that conversation followed the one I had with Leticia DutchSurname 2 weeks ago in Albuquerque. Right down to similar "apples and oranges." (God save me from ever being the "good friend" or "warmly regarded" by any of the 11.) She did not tell me to "shut up," but she did interupt, give long tangential speeches, and irritably say, "Will you let me finish, will you let me finish, do you want me to answer or not." That last, I think, is the new method of stalling for time to remember the memorized script. And, there was at least one move as though to leave the table.
No wonder Ellis is certain that Glen was reading from a script, Ellis must have to recite his script to the entire Democratic runaway caucus each morning, to prove he has memorized it.
That would explain what the Dems have to do in the Conference room in NM. (other than watch the Senate Chambers on the internet.)
